The University Grants Commission (UGC) invited and urged vice-chancellors of all universities (state, deemed and private) and principals of all colleges in the nation to use the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2023 for admission into their undergraduate programs.
“It is understood that many Higher education Institutions (HEIs) in the country either use marks of 12th - Board or conduct separate entrance examinations for admissions in UG programs.” reads the official UGC letter.
For the past few years, officials have given this idea a lot of thought. This effort, according to UGC, would save students from taking multiple entrance tests that are scheduled on different dates and occasionally coincide, as well as provide students from other boards an equal opportunity.
